I noticed that yesterday, too. It seems the only thing that works is typing a URL directly into the box.
I mean, not that this is particularly helpful. But it would be great if we could post links properly.

Oddly mostly happens to the big tech ones?

I mean I'm all for experience the local culture, but crossing a border doesn't instantly make me fluent in that language...?

I know this is old news, but it does not fail to surprise me that still in 2026 when I travel to another country, some webservices that I'm logged in to (and have actively set to English!) suddenly and without asking decide to change their SERPs or interface language to the local one.

I do think there should be good ways to do this, and I think the way they are handling @germnetwork.com (buttons on your bio) and @standard.site (the expanded embeds) are a great start!

E.g. take @popfeed.social: should Bluesky then show it when someone marks a show as "want to watch" or "watching"? Or only when "watched?

I think providing a bounded set of restrictions (UI elements) that can be filled in with records would be an incredible way to use the traffic the platform currently has to continue to bolster the breadth of the ecosystem.

(and to disambiguate, when I say “it” I’m speaking of building a way for services built on AT Protocol to expose their capabilities inside of Bluesky in a way that is uniquely available here, compared to every other previous crossplat attempt web2 apps made because of its architecture on AT Proto)

That's already here? You can build it today and people do: apps like @skywalker.thereforeiam.eu, Heron, @mu.social, @blackskyweb.xyz, @anisota.net already build upon the app.bsky.* lexicons and create custom experiences with other/extra features. Not many other ecosystem that allow for that 🙂

Standard Reader renders other people's writing natively, which quietly put us in competition with the sites we mirror for search ranking.

Now every article page points search engines back at the publication's own site (rel=canonical)

Reading it in the reader shouldn't cost a writer their ranking.

Is there an atproto-based maps app yet that can import all my Google maps favorites?

Or... Best alternatives....?
